On horizons, faith and courage....

Updated: Jan 22, 2022

In the early morning hours I wrote this poem in my journal...

"What is on the horizon? I lay down my hope, and rest in faith.

Let go of the outcome."

I started thinking about horizons and what it means to both see the edge but also not see what's beyond it. It's really how I've been feeling lately as I'm working on creating my next chapter. I can see the horizon in front of me but I'm not sure what's beyond it.

I talked to a friend yesterday and she was incredibly encouraging. She said the words 'have faith' and I immediately wrote it down in all caps and underlined it. She helped me reconnect with my worth and reframe how I was thinking about my next chapter, and it was incredibly helpful. I'm in the process of looking for a new consulting job while simultaneously building a coaching practice and it feels like a lot to juggle all at once. So, this journal page is a great reminder to me to keep my eye on the horizon and as I move forward, everything that's beyond my vision now will be revealed. The only way to see what's on the other side is to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

If you're feeling a bit lost and adrift, you aren't alone. I hope this builds in you the courage to keep moving forward, towards the horizon. Who knows what's on the other side!! Questions you can consider are, what kind of vision is beginning to emerge? Where are you noticing moments of excitement? What are you hoping for?

Until next time, my wish for you is to lean into your sense of adventure and hold yourself in the deepest sense of tenderness.

XOXO

Ann
